Crystal Palace predicted lineup vs Fulham: Sage set for changes

Crystal Palace travel to Craven Cottage on Wednesday night for the Carabao Cup fourth-round meeting with Fulham.

Pierre Sage’s side need a response after Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United, while their opponents arrive on the back of consecutive league victories. Pressure is on Pierre Sage after failing to win the last four games and another defeat will add even more.

Despite concerns over his future at Crystal Palace, Sage is expected to rotate the squad for the League Cup with minutes expected to a host of players.

Predicted Crystal Palace lineup vs Fulham

Sage could make several changes for the Fulham clash, with Walter Benitez expected to start in goal despite Sage hinting at club captain, Dean Henderson returning. Jefferson Lerma, Ahanor and Chris Richards to form a back three, while Oscar Mingueza and Ben Chilwell could start as wing-backs.

Adam Wharton is set to start alongside Will Hughes in central midfield. Dwight McNeil and Evann Guessand could operate behind Jean-Philippe Mateta, who is expected to lead the attack after nursing back from an injury

Crystal Palace predicted lineup (3-4-2-1):

Benitez; Lerma, Ahanor, Richards; Mingueza, Wharton, Hughes, Chilwell; McNeil, Guessand; Mateta.

Palace team news ahead of Fulham

Chadi Riad, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Quinten Timber remain sidelined through injury, while Dean Henderson may feature after missing the club’s last nine matches.

Ismaila Sarr is expected to miss out with a groin problem, and Jorgen Strand Larsen is a doubt for the Round of 16 clash after sitting out the Newcastle defeat.

Fitness issues with Sarr and Strand Larsen may leave Sage with limited attacking options. Mateta is tipped to lead the line with Nketiah, with McNeil and Guessand also options available with him.

Fulham will be confident after their recent league wins, so Crystal Palace will need a response after a bad patch of form that has left Pierre Sage under scrutiny for his job at Selhurst Park.
