According to Sky Sports News, Kwesi Appiah is set to sign a new two-year deal at the club before going out on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 24-year-old has scored eight goals this season in 23 appearances whilst on loan at Cambridge United which earned him a call-up to Avram Grant’s Ghanaian African Cup of Nations squad. He made four appearances throughout the tournament scoring a goal and creating another two – landing him with a fair play award for his performances.
Upon his return from the African Cup of Nations, the striker has scored four goals in two appearances for Crystal Palace’s Under-21s after scoring a hat-trick against Leeds United on Tuesday at the KNK Stadium.
Appiah has made ten appearances for the Eagles since arriving at the club in 2011/12 with only 238 minutes of game time to his name, bringing up questions about why the club want to keep a player of such obscurity to the first team at the club. He currently has three months left to run on his current contract.
