Crystal Palace are reportedly tracking the progress of Arsenal youngster Renny Smith alongside a host of Premier League clubs including Fulham, Bournemouth and Aston Villa.

The versatile midfielder made 21 appearances for Arsenal’s Under-18’s in his first term at the club, scoring on only three occasions after making his debut for the side against Newcastle in Feburary 2013; the same season he joined the North London club from Chelsea.

In April last year, Smith earned his first call-up to Austria’s U18s where he only went on to make one additional appearance before making his debut for their Uunder-19’s side at the start of this season. The 18-year-old made only one appearance for Arsenal in the UEFA Youth Leage with that being at centre back for their 3-1 win against Galatasary in their final group stage game.

Smith has featured on several occasions for the Under-21s this season, featuring at right back and left back on six occasions this year for the development side. The versatile player has recently been on trial at Italian side Capri who are the latest side to be promoted to Serie A. Speaking to CalcioNews24, his agent Jordan Wise said:

“Renny loves the Italian style of football, knows the history of Serie A and is fascinated by it.

“I think Italy is the ideal place for his style, as he is a really intelligent player. He has already represented Austria at Under-18 and Under-19 level, so he has experience and character.

“There are several clubs interested in him, but he has always had a passion for Italy, its football and its style. He is ready for this challenge.

“The other clubs tracking Renny are Fulham, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and more.”
