Parish content over Pardew rumours

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has said that he is not worried about losing manager Alan Pardew to the England job.

Pardew’s recent successes at Crystal Palace have made him one of the front-runners to take over from Roy Hodgson at the national team helm, with the Eagles currently sitting in fourth place after a string of excellent performances so far this term.

Pardew is currently second favourite to succeed Hodgson at Wembley but Parish seems pretty content about the possibility of losing the influential Englishman.

Speaking to The London Evening Standard, Parish told the press:

The England manager has not lost a game for two years so I cannot see anything dramatic on the horizon. What would you like me to do? Hope that we don’t play as well so nobody wants Alan? It is a luxury problem.

If it happens and someone like England or Manchester United want the Crystal Palace manager, it would mean we are doing ever so well.

My job is to build an infrastructure where we can take those things when they come along. You have to build a culture at a club that is bigger than any one person.

If Pardew was to take over the England job, it would not be for another few years with the recent good form of the Three Lions and the upcoming European Championships next year on the horizon.
