Swansea to boost survival chances by signing Palace star

Swansea City, after two straight wins against Watford and Everton, are still in the market for a striker in order to boost their chances of survival before the transfer window deadline.

Dwight Gayle has, according to Sky Sports, been identified as that striker.

The Crystal Palace front-man has seldom featured for Alan Pardew’s men this season, playing just the seven Premier League goals, and he is yet to score a goal this campaign, undoubtedly due to his injuries.

Indeed, Gayle has only taken part in one match since the end of October. He was rumoured to be leaving for Bristol City over the summer, and his days at Selhurst Park could well be numbered.

Swansea City need a striker and may have to sell Bafetimbi Gomis in order to fund a move. The Welsh side have also been linked with the likes of Fabio Borini, Scott Sinclair and Manolo Gabbiadini.

The arrival of Emmanuel Adebayor could push Gayle down the pecking order, and as such, he could push for a move away from Selhurst Park.

matchday.
