Former Newcastle United striker and Match of the Day pundit, Alan Shearer has slammed the ‘losing mentality’ at Crystal Palace.
Speaking on the programme after Palace’s defeat to Everton, Shearer condemned the performance as Sam Allardyce’s side lost 1-0 from a Seamus Coleman goal.
As reported by the Croydon Advertiser, Shearer said:
There is a losing mentality in that team and they have got to do better going forward, there was not enough from Palace and they have got to do better – they are in serious trouble.
Palace have now failed to win a game in their last eight league games, leaving them inside the relegation zone.
The game was decided on a controversial moment after new signing Jeffrey Schlupp appeared to go down with cramp, but off the pitch, before crawling back onto it.
Everton continued and did not put the ball out of play and went on to score at the other end in the resulting attack.
Following Swansea’s dramatic 3-2 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday afternoon, Palace fell into the drop zone, on just 16 points, two behind the aforementioned Swansea City.
