Palace agree terms with Sunderland’s Van Aanholt

Crystal Palace have agreed terms with Patric van Aanholt ahead of his £12 million switch to Selhurst Park.

The Guardian is reporting that the former Chelsea defender, who Allardyce worked with during his time at Sunderland, will join for an initial £9 million which could rise up to £12 million.

The Dutchman will now go ahead and complete a medical ahead of his expected departure from the Stadium of Light.

Van Aanholt joined Sunderland from Chelsea in 2014 for a fee that was reported to be in the region £1.5 and £2 million.

David Moyes has been very open regarding the lack of funds he has available to him at Sunderland and has been forced to sell his key players before being able to bring in any players.

The attacking left-back played a key role in Sunderland’s successful bid to avoid relegation last season.

Palace have already signed Jeffrey Schlupp this January as they prepare to re-shape their defence.
