Palace looking at teenager Lex Allan

Crystal Palace are keeping a close eye on Sittingbourne’s teenager centre back Lex Allan, who has been training with Millwall over the past few weeks, according to a report in the Kent Online.

Allan, 18, has only made six league appearances for Sittingbourne since joining from park football over the summer, but has attracted plenty of interest from Millwall, Fulham, Birmingham City and now Crystal Palace, with scouts from all four clubs believed to have travelled to Sittingbourne to watch the youngster play since the start of the season.

The 6ft 7in central defender is currently in his first season in senior football and has impressed for the ‘Brickies’ who sit top of the Bostik South league, which is the eighth tier of the English footballing pyramid.

Talking to the Kent Online, Sittingbourne manager Nick Davis spoke about the teenager’s future and the possibility of him leaving for the Eagles.

He’s got clubs left, right and centre looking at him. He was at Millwall again last week, Palace have said they want him to train with them and Fulham have also enquired. He could go to a pro club, play in their under-23s and get better coaching than we can provide, and on a daily basis. Would that give him the best shot? Potentially.

matchday.
