Crystal Palace have rejected a £52 million bid from Everton for the signing of Wilfried Zaha, according to the Guardian.
The winger’s future has been up in the air all summer, with various reports suggesting he will leave Selhurst Park after enjoying an excellent second spell there.
Arsenal have been seen as a leading candidate for Zaha’s signature, but they have now turned their attention to Lille wide man Nicolas Pepe.
Everton now arguably look like the favourites to snap up the 26-year-old should he leave, but it is clear that Palace are reluctant to sell.
The latest development has seen a £52 million bid turned down, with the Eagles “adamant the Ivorian will not be leaving Selhurst Park this summer”.
Zaha signed a new deal at Palace last year that doesn’t expire until 2023, and they are confident that he will be at the club come the end of the transfer window.
Crystal Palace's 5 most expensive departures
5. Andy Johnson
Johnson was a prolific figure for Crystal Palace in the mid 2000s, leading the line expertly.
His performances earned him a move to Everton in 2006, for just shy of £10 million.
4. Wilfried Zaha
Zaha’s first spell at Selhurst Park came to an end when Manchester United snapped him up for £10.5 million in 2012.
Things didn’t go to plan for him at Old Trafford, however, and he returned to Palace on loan twice, before signing permanently.
3. Dwight Gayle
Gayle was an impressive performer for Palace earlier in the decade, scoring 25 goals in 74 performances.
He joined Newcastle for £10.8 million in the summer of 2016.
2. Yannick Bolasie
Bolasie was an inconsistent player, but when he was on song he was extremely dangerous.
Everton took a punt on him back in 2016, spending £26 million on the winger.
1. Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Wan-Bissaka has become comfortably Palace’s most expensive departure of all time this summer.
The Englishman has moved to Manchester United for £50 million and he has a bright future ahead of him.
