Long-term Palace target Gabriel Barbosa snubs move to Selhurst Park

Long-term Palace target Gabriel Barbossa – sometimes known as Gabigol – is reportedly snubbing interest from SE25 as he believes he can secure a more high-profile move. The Inter Milan striker, on loan to Brazilian side Flamengo, has scored a mightily impressive 27 goals in 31 games.

His consistently impressive form failed to go unnoticed in Europe. Despite previous and attractive offers from Schalke and Crystal Palace, Barbosa believes he can secure a move to one of Europe’s elite teams.

It is also believed that a deal between Inter Milan and Flamengo for a permanent deal for the dynamic Brazilian forward is close. According to club vice president Marcos Braz via Sport Witness, there is a deal for the permanent transfer.

“Flamengo have already got things right with Inter, have already made the proposal to Gabriel and he will know if he wants to play at Flamengo in 2020 or not.”

His current club situation will be up for reconsideration when global markets re-open for transfers in January.

It would be a great shame for all parties concerned if Barbosa snubs a move. He would likely fail to make the majority of starting XI’s in virtually all European giants, whilst Palace could guarantee regular gametime and a chance to prove himself in one of the world’s greatest leagues.

A host of Brazilian talents already practice their trade in England; Palace would offer the maximum amount of exposure, whilst likely offering a generous contract in the process.
