QPR accept bid from Crystal Palace for Ebere Eze

After a protracted transfer saga, it looks as though QPR star talent Ebere Eze will indeed be moving to fellow London side Crystal Palace.

The Telegraph reported on Tuesday that a deal worth £19.5 million was accepted by the west London side.

The versatile talent has been on the radar of the Palace hierarchy for some time, with crunch negotiations occurring over a fee for the player over the past few weeks.

However, the latest report indicates an agreement has been reached that is far closer to QPR’s £20 million valuation of the player. The deal, which includes a series of add-ons, would likely be considered as containing realistic and achievable clauses.

Significantly, the article notes that Palace are hopeful of concluding their lengthy pursuit of the former England Under-21 international within the next 48 hours. Personal terms and a medical are not expected to be a problem between the club, the player’s agent and Eze himself.

A number of clubs were rivalling Palace’s interest in the attacking midfielder, who can also play on the wing. QPR were willing to let their key player leave, but only if their valuation was met for their prized asset.

The former Millwall youth academy player consequentially looks set to make the step up to the Premier League with this latest development. A short move across the Thames to south London may soon materialise, as Roy Hodgson’s side looks to reinforce ahead of the looming start of the 2020/21 campaign.
