- Palace reportedly table contract offer to Iraola
- Spaniard keen on Selhurst vacancy
- Assessing his options with chelsea job likely to come up
Crystal Palace are set to offer a lucrative deal to Andoni Iraola in an attempt to convince the Spaniard to venture to South London this Summer. Ed Aarons has confirmed in The Guardian that the Eagles are willing to do what it takes to acquire Iraola’s signature.
Since Oliver Glasner confirmed his departure in January, Palace have been on the hunt for their next manager, and have shortlisted a number of names with a vast range of experience.
Pierre Sage is another name that has been added, but it appears that Iroala is the primary target.

Palace offer tempting Iraola
Aarons reported that Iraola is in fact keen on the Palace job but is waiting to find out what other offers he receives before committing to anything.
Multiple sources are confirming that a contract offer has in fact been made to the Spaniard. Football journalist Nicolò Schira has revealed that Palace have already submitted their first official bid as they aim to convince Iraola to sign, with a deal until 2029 on the cards.
Another report has suggested that they are aware of the numbers involved in the deal. KrrishFT, who exclusively broke the news that Palace had held talks with Iraola, has revealed that the supposed contract offer includes a salary of £4.2 million per season, which was offered after ‘extremely positive talks’ were held.
Whilst Iraola is interested in the project in South London, he intends to wait until any other proposals come through, with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea also monitoring Iraola’s position.
No guarantees at this stage
Whilst the positive news has been revealed, there have been some conflicting reports that have suggested the talks are not quite as developed as initially thought.
News aggregator Ben Jacobs revealed that whilst Iraola is Palace’s dream target, “nothing is yet advanced.”
Jacobs said that “the chances of success could depend on Palace qualifying for the Europa League and whether Chelsea also decide to advance in talks…Iraola keeping options open.”
This has been the reality since Glasner’s departure was announced. The level of football that Palace can offer any incoming manager will make an impact on the standard of coach available.
The Conference League has therefore always been a priority, not just for short term glory and success, but also for how it can impact the club going forward.
