Crystal Palace Harvey Elliott Transfer Interest Gives Pierre Sage A Creative Test

Crystal Palace are reportedly monitoring Harvey Elliott’s Liverpool situation as Pierre Sage weighs another route into the attacking-midfield market.

This Is Anfield reports that Palace are among the clubs interested in the 23-year-old, with Liverpool expected to give Elliott a chance to stake his claim during pre-season under Andoni Iraola.

The link lands at a useful moment for Palace. Sage has inherited a squad with European football, a heavy World Cup workload and clear demand for technical depth between midfield and attack.

Elliott would not arrive as a pure winger or a conventional No.10. His value is in the half-spaces, where Palace need more craft around Eberechi Eze, Daichi Kamada and Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Pierre Sage Gets A Clear Transfer Test

Elliott’s stock has been complicated by a disrupted Aston Villa loan. Sky Sports reported last September that Villa signed him on loan with a £35m obligation to buy, while later reports said the clause was tied to Premier League appearances.

BeIN Sports reported in May that Elliott made just five Premier League appearances, with Villa avoiding the 10-match threshold that would have triggered the £35m deal.

That context matters. Palace are not simply looking at a stalled squad player; they are looking at a left-footed creator whose development needs minutes, structure and trust.

There is still no suggestion of an advanced agreement, and Liverpool’s pre-season assessment remains the obvious first hurdle. But if Iraola decides Elliott can leave, Palace would have a credible argument: a defined role, London stability and a manager who needs flexible technicians immediately.

Read Crystal Palace has already covered how the Shea Charles race gives Sage a midfield-market test. Elliott would be a different profile entirely.

Charles would be a bet on ball-winning and structure. Elliott would be a bet on chance creation. That makes this watch brief worth taking seriously.
