Crystal Palace have entered the race to sign Parma striker Mateo Pellegrino as they attempt to disrupt Juventus’ negotiations for the Argentine.
Palace have registered a clear interest in the 24-year-old after his impressive 2025/26 season in Serie A.
However, Juventus remain in direct talks with Parma and Pellegrino is currently understood to prefer a move to Turin.
According to Football Italia, Parma value the striker at around €30m. The structure of Juventus’ proposed deal remains the main obstacle rather than the overall price.
The Italian club reportedly want an initial loan with an option to buy, which would become an obligation if certain conditions are met. Parma are seeking stronger guarantees over a permanent sale.
Palace face battle to convince Pellegrino
Pellegrino scored 12 goals and provided one assist across 39 appearances in Serie A and the Coppa Italia last season.
The 6ft 4in forward would give Pierre Sage another physical focal point capable of competing with Jean-Philippe Mateta and Jørgen Strand Larsen.
Palace can offer Europa League football, although regular starting opportunities could prove harder to guarantee because of their existing attacking depth.
The Eagles are also trying to secure Mateta’s future after offering the France international a new contract until 2030. No agreement has yet been reported.
Parma must also pay former club Vélez Sarsfield seven per cent of any transfer fee received for Pellegrino.
Juventus remain ahead in the race, but Palace’s involvement could pressure the Italian giants to improve their proposal. The Eagles will need to convince Pellegrino that a move to Selhurst Park offers a stronger route for his development.
