Crystal Palace have submitted a €25million bid to sign FC Augsburg centre-back Chrislain Matsima.
The new bid for Chrislain Matsima follows an earlier rejected proposal, with the defender now hoping the two clubs can reach an agreement.
Florian Plettenberg reports that negotiations are continuing between Palace and Augsburg.
The 24-year-old has already reached a full agreement with the Eagles and wants to complete a move to Selhurst Park. However, Augsburg have not yet accepted Palace’s latest offer.
Palace previously offered €20million for Matsima, but the Bundesliga side rejected that proposal. The improved bid shows that the Eagles are now making a serious attempt to finalise the transfer.

Matsima has emerged as a leading defensive target following Maxence Lacroix’s move to Chelsea.
ReadCrystalPalace previously reported that Palace wanted to sign the Augsburg defender during talks over Lacroix’s future.
The France youth international stands at 6ft 4in and can operate in the middle or on the right of a back three. He also has experience in Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga, while Augsburg extended his contract until 2030 last November.
His pace and physical strength would suit Pierre Sage’s defensive system. Matsima is also young enough to develop further while immediately competing for a starting position.
The player’s desire to join Palace should help the negotiations. Augsburg still hold a strong position because of his long-term contract, but Palace have now moved significantly closer to their demands.
The Crystal Palace bid for Chrislain Matsima has not yet produced a full agreement. However, personal terms are settled and the defender is pushing for the move, leaving the two clubs to negotiate the final fee.
