Danny Imray to Wrexham is moving closer after Crystal Palace reportedly decided to leave the defender out of their squad for the Como Cup. The Championship club are expected to pay around £5million for the highly rated right-back.
Imray had attracted interest from West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City following an impressive season in the EFL.
However, Wrexham now appear to have won the race and are working to complete a permanent agreement with Palace.

According to Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath, Imray is expected to remain in England rather than travel with Pierre Sage’s squad to Italy.
The 23-year-old is closing in on a move worth around £5million, although neither club has officially confirmed an agreement. Wrexham reportedly want to complete the transfer before their Championship campaign begins.
The development follows ReadCrystalPalace’s report on Sunday, which revealed that Wrexham had joined West Brom and Stoke in pursuing Imray.
Palace had been considering whether to approve another loan or cash in permanently. The reported fee could now make a sale attractive for a player who has not made a competitive first-team appearance at Selhurst Park.
Imray strengthened his reputation during productive loans with Bromley, Blackpool and West Brom. He scored twice in 16 appearances for Blackpool before starting West Brom’s final 11 Championship matches during their successful fight against relegation.
Competition on the right side of Palace’s squad also makes a pathway into Sage’s team difficult. The Eagles have already added Óscar Mingueza and continue to consider further versatile defensive options.
Danny Imray to Wrexham would provide the defender with regular Championship football while delivering a substantial return for Palace’s academy development work.
