Crystal Palace do not want to sell Adam Wharton despite the England international attracting interest from several leading Premier League clubs.
Wharton’s future remains firmly in the Eagles’ hands, with the midfielder contracted at Selhurst Park until 2029.
Sky Sports reports that Wharton is on the shortlists of several top Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United.
However, Sky Sports News’ latest update makes clear that Palace have no desire to lose the 22-year-old this summer.
Wharton still has three years remaining on his contract, leaving Palace in a strong negotiating position if interest develops into formal offers.
Adam Wharton Crystal Palace future remains under club control
Palace have faced speculation around Wharton throughout the summer, but there has still been no indication that they are actively inviting offers.
ReadCrystalPalace previously reported that Chelsea had contacted Wharton’s representatives, although there had been no club-to-club approach or formal offer at that stage.
The Eagles’ stance was already firm. Wharton was not considered a player Palace wanted to sell, while his long-term contract gave the club little reason to compromise over their valuation.
That position appears unchanged.
Wharton has developed into one of Palace’s most important players since arriving from Blackburn Rovers in February 2024. His performances have subsequently attracted attention from clubs competing at the top end of the Premier League.
Palace are also looking to strengthen rather than weaken Pierre Sage’s midfield before the new campaign.
Shea Charles is among the players admired by the club, but adding another midfielder does not necessarily indicate preparation for Wharton’s departure.
Unless an exceptional offer changes Palace’s position, keeping the England international appears to remain the priority.
Interest from elite clubs is unlikely to disappear, but Wharton’s contract means Palace can dictate the terms of any negotiations.
