Crystal Palace have secured the long-term future of Dean Henderson, with chairman Steve Parish delighted to see the club captain commit his future to Selhurst Park.
Dean Henderson has grown into an important figure for Crystal Palace since arriving from Manchester United in 2023. The goalkeeper has established himself as the undisputed first choice and has now put pen to paper on a new long-term agreement.
For Parish, keeping Henderson was about more than simply retaining a goalkeeper.
Parish reveals more Palace deals are being worked on
“Dean’s so important, he’s such a good lad and he’s part of our belief system for the fans and the team, so it was excellent getting it done, we’re really pleased to do that,” Parish said while talking to The Athletic.
The Palace chairman also hinted that Henderson’s new contract won’t be the last piece of business of its kind.
“There’s one or two others that we’re working on as well.”
That will certainly interest Palace supporters, particularly with the club looking to build on a period that has already brought major success.
Henderson has made 119 appearances for the Eagles across all competitions and kept 38 clean sheets. His importance grew even further after Marc Guehi’s departure to Manchester City, with the goalkeeper taking on the captaincy.
He also played a key role in Palace’s trophy-winning run. Henderson produced a crucial penalty save against Manchester City in the 2024/25 FA Cup final before helping the Eagles win the Community Shield and UEFA Conference League.
His new deal therefore gives Palace continuity in one of the most important positions on the pitch.
