PSG interest could tempt Crystal Palace defender for a move

Crystal Palace could face a fight to keep Jaydee Canvot if Paris Saint-Germain decide to make a move for the young defender.

According to Football Insider, Canvot would be interested in joining the French champions and is understood to be “flattered” by their interest. However, Crystal Palace are in a strong negotitaion position as the centre-back is under contract at Selhurst Park until the summer of 2029.

Jaydee Canvot attracting attention after Palace breakthrough

Jaydee Canvot has earned plenty of attention following his performances last season, when he made 36 appearances in all competitions. He was instrumental in Palace’s title winning Conference League run.

He remains one of the key members of Pierre Sage’s squad. The former Toulouse defender has started five of Palace’s opening six Premier League matches this season and is expected to feature in the Europa League game away to Lyon.

Canvot has build a reputation since arriving at Selhurst Park and PSG’s reported interest is another sign of his development at Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace not interested in a transfer

A potential move to the French capital is reported to be appealing to the defender. However, the Eagles have little reason to rush into a decision over his future.

Palace are under no immediate pressure to sell and are expected to  be in control of any discussions should PSG turn their interest into a formal approach.

Jaydee Canvot is expected to remain a key player for Pierre Sage as Palace look to build on their recent progress. Keeping him at Selhurst Park would be Sage’s priority as he is already playing such a prominent role in the team.

PSG’s interest is something to watch rather but much will depend on whether the French side decide to act.
