Crystal Palace’s Co-Chairman Steve Parish has spoken about the club’s desire to improve Selhurst Park by renovating the Main Stand.
Since the CPFC 2010 consortium took over the South London Club, they’ve already made improvements to the stadium. Over the summer, they paid £1million to lay a new state-of-the-art pitch. They’ve also invested in a new media zone, new executive lounges, put undersoil heating underneath the pitch and refurbished the section designated for the away supporters.
Despite all that, Parish, speaking on NBC’s Men in Blazers podcast, outlined the club’s desire to renovate the Main Stand at Selhurst Park.
We really need to do something with the stadium; a new Main Stand. The corporate income you get in London for Premier League football would put us in the same income bracket as the next level of clubs.

Parish also spoke of finding a balance between investing in the infrastructure of the club, on things such as the stadium, and putting money into the playing staff.
In that time, we have got to make sure that the funds aren’t diverted so we can stay in the league and so Alan [Pardew] is supported in the things he needs to do.
The Co-Chairman also insisted that while they want to boost the capacity at Selhurst Park, they do not want to do anything that has a negative impact on the atmosphere that is currently generated at the stadium.
We’ll build a very different stadium to what we would’ve built when we came into the Premier League. They have done many things, but it has sanitised stadia slightly. We’re fortunate we can see those and say ‘let’s do something a bit different’.
