Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has spoken about the levels of happiness within the squad to the Croydon Advertiser and has said that he hasn’t seen a happier squad since he took the reins in 2010.
It is the Eagles’ fourth season in the Premier League, something that many supporters, players and pundits didn’t think was likely to happen when the club got promoted in 2012 but it seems like positivity has been the way forward since then.
“With the players, I don’t think we have had a happier group since I have been involved,” said Parish.
“I mean the players were happy playing for Tony (Pulis) and others, but Alan (Pardew) is a nice guy.

“He is an outward going guy and the players like him. He works them hard, but I think everyone feels positive about things.
“And it is not just on the pitch, with Parish praising the players’ commitment to the club off of it as well, like with the club’s charitable foundation.”
The team are without a win in two games with defeats to West Ham and Leicester City but they will be looking to bounce back against Liverpool who the Eagles have managed to beat on a number of occasions in recent years.

Christian Benteke, Andros Townsend and James Tomkins among others have impressed during their first few months at the club, with the first two in particular receiving plaudits from pundits.
“The players want us to sign good players and they want us to do well,” he said.
“We have got a great bunch of lads and they do an awful lot of good things with the foundation and outside of the club, and they do it because they are nice people.
“They like to go out every now and again, but they don’t do anything inappropriate. We trust them and they are a good group, that is well managed by Alan and Keith and everyone involved.
“But we have got to keep that going with everyone sticking together.”
