Yohan Cabaye seals move to Al Nasr

Yohan Cabaye has left Crystal Palace to join the United Arab Emirates based side Al Nasr.

The Frenchman’s contract at Selhurst Park expired at the end of last season and although he was offered the chance to stay, he’s decided to make the switch to the UAE.

The 32-year-old has signed a two-year contract with Al Nasr and will play as their marquee player in the upcoming season.

Although Palace did offer Cabaye a new contract, they wanted him to take a reduced salary as he was no longer justifying being one of the top earners at the club.

Al Nasr are likely to be paying the former French international a very large salary, which undoubtedly played a huge part in his decision to make a move to the Middle East.

Cabaye was a bit part player for Roy Hodgson last season and him no longer being on the books should free up wages for the manager to look to bring in new players.
