Palace enquire about deal to sign ex-Chelsea defender Ivanovic

Crystal Palace have reportedly enquired about a potential deal to sign former Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

According to the Daily Mail, Fulham, Palace and Barcelona are all interested in the player.

The 34-year-old is currently playing his football in Russia for Zenit after leaving Chelsea, but there are suggestions he could be on the move in January.

Both Premier League sides have made ‘tentative enquiries’ according to the report.

While Barcelona are looking for cheap options to strengthen their defence in the new year after a long-term injury to Samuel Umtiti.

The Serbian international is out of contract with Zenit in the summer, but the Russian side do have the option to extend his deal by a further year.

It is yet to be seen if the player would welcome a return to London, but he would bring a wealth of Premier League experience after an illustrious career with Chelsea.

During his time in England he won the Premier League three times, three FA Cups, one League Cup, the Champions League and the Europa League with the Blues.
