Crystal Palace are set for a busy summer transfer window, and that will include outgoings. While the club have yet to appoint an Oliver Glasner replacement, they are still preparing their summer business.

Andoni Iraola has emerged as the Palace board’s ideal candidate to succeed Glasner. Reports claim that the Eagles have presented a ‘multi-million’ offer to the Spaniard, who will leave Bournemouth in June.

Whether it’s Iraola in charge or whoever else, several player exits are anticipated. One of them could be young English forward Jemiah Umolu.

Umolu Likely to Leave

Umolu had a season-long loan at EFL League Two outfit Bromley, cut short in January amid a lack of game time. The 20-year-old made just five appearances, totalling just 112 minutes and scoring one goal.

Palace made the decision to recall him, but he might not be staying at Selhurst Park for too long. Sam Tabuteau of Standard Sport reports that Umolu is “exploring his options” and is seeking a permanent move away from the club.

If the young frontman does leave, he’ll bring an end to a two-year spell at the club. He joined Palace’s youth academy from West Ham United’s back in the summer of 2024.

The Eagles U21 striker joined Port Vale on loan in January 2025 and made nine appearances at Vale Park. He’d have been keen to kick on at Bromley but the League Two leaders didn’t show their faith in him.

It’s noted that there was little interest in Umolu in January, when the club made him available on loan again. He’s since appeared for the U21’s, appearing in 10 Premier League two games and finding the back of the net four times.

‘A Fantastic Addition’

Umolu seemed to be an exciting prospect when first arriving at Palace and Port Vale were delighted to sign him on loan last year. Their manager, Darren Moore, gave a glowing verdict (via One Vale Fan):

“Jemiah represents a fantastic addition to the squad here at Vale and will offer us another excellent attacking option in the second half of the campaign. He’s an exciting young player with a natural ability for scoring goals, and someone we’ve been really impressed by this season, so we’re delighted to have him on board.”

Umolu didn’t quite live up to expectations during his loan with the Valiants. He didn’t make a single start and only came off the bench nine times.

Palace are renowned for their development of top youth talent but occasionally the South Londoners have to make difficult decisions. It appears they will be parting ways with Umolu this summer.
