Crystal Palace keen on World Cup star as Eintracht Frankfurt offer looms

Crystal Palace are weighing up a move for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Fares Chaibi, with reports suggesting the Eagles could make an offer for the Algeria international soon.

According to Bild, Crystal Palace have shown concrete interest in the 23-year-old and are keen to bring him to south London. It seems only a matter of time before the Eagles make their interest formal with an approach to Frankfurt.

Chaibi has previously been linked with Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Brentford, but Crystal Palace now appear to be seriously considering a move for the versatile midfielder.

Chaibi enjoyed an impressive Bundesliga campaign

The Frankfurt No.8 enjoyed a productive 2025/26 season, recording nine assists in 28 Bundesliga appearances.

He also found the net twice, showing his ability in the final third while operating from midfield.

Chaibi isn’t restricted to one position, either. He can play centrally or play further forward, giving Crystal Palace another flexible option in their midfield and attacking ranks.

The Algerian has also established himself as an important player for his country since joining Frankfurt.

Chaibi has won 34 caps for Algeria and featured throughout their World Cup campaign. He played the full 90 minutes in all four of Algeria’s matches as they reached the Round of 32.

His performances on the international stage have only added to the interest surrounding him.

Crystal Palace face Frankfurt negotiations

Chaibi joined Frankfurt from Toulouse in 2023 for €10 million and still has two years remaining on his current contract.

His deal with the Bundesliga club runs until June 30, 2028, meaning Crystal Palace would need to negotiate an agreement with Frankfurt if they decide to push ahead with their interest.

The Eagles’ reported willingness to make an offer suggests they are serious about the midfielder.

For Palace, Chaibi’s combination of Bundesliga and international experience and versatility makes him an interesting option.

Frankfurt will have little reason to rush into a sale given his two years remaining on the contract, so Crystal Palace could face a significant negotiation if they turn their interest into a formal bid.

Palace are keen on Chaibi, concrete interest has been established and an offer could be coming soon.
