Crystal Palace have put a £25 million price tag on Daniel Munoz, with Everton reportedly the club pushing hardest to sign the Colombian this summer.
David Moyes is looking for another right-back after Seamus Coleman’s departure, while there remain questions over his other options in the position. Munoz has now emerged as a leading target, but Everton will have to decide whether they’re prepared to meet Palace’s valuation.
The Eagles signed Munoz from Genk for just £6.8m in January 2024. Two-and-a-half years later, they could make a sizeable profit on a player who has become a key part of the club’s recent success. Now, As per Football Insider, Crystal Palace are set to demand up to £25million.
Daniel Munoz has been a huge player for Crystal Palace
Daniel Munoz has made 108 appearances for Crystal Palace since arriving in south London, scoring 11 goals and supplying 16 assists.
He’s also been central to the biggest successes of the recent era. The Colombian helped Palace win both the FA Cup and UEFA Conference League, while his performances have made him one of the more productive attacking full-backs in the Premier League.
Since making his league debut in February 2024, Munoz has created 94 chances. That ranks him third among Premier League defenders.
Although he’s primarily a right-back, Munoz operated as a wing-back for Palace last season and has shown that he can contribute heavily in the final third.
Everton will also be attracted by his international experience. Munoz remains a Colombia international and enjoyed an excellent World Cup, adding to the appeal of bringing a top player into Moyes’ squad.
But there is one obvious concern for Everton.
Munoz turned 30 in May. Paying £25m for a player at that stage of his career would represent a significant investment, particularly when considering the potential resale value.
Crystal Palace already have a replacement lined up
Palace’s stance could also be influenced by their recent recruitment.
The Eagles have agreed a deal for Anan Khalaili from Union Saint-Gilloise, with the Israeli international expected to take over much of Munoz’s role. Palace have also agreed a deal for Zavier Gozo from Real Salt Lake, who can operate as a right wing-back, despite right wing being his natural position.
That doesn’t necessarily mean Munoz is being pushed out, but it does make a potential departure easier to understand.
The Colombian remains under contract at Selhurst Park until 2028, so Palace aren’t forced into a sale. Everton would need to pay a decent amount to sign him.
Everton and Palace have already done business this summer, with Brennan Johnson and Dwight McNeil swapping clubs.
Now, they could be negotiating another deal.
For Everton, Munoz offers Premier League experience, attacking quality and international pedigree. For Palace, £25m would be a significant transfer fee.
