Nottingham Forest submit £20m bid for Crystal Palace star

Nottingham Forest have made a £20 million offer for Crystal Palace wing-back Daniel Munoz, with another £2 million potentially available in add-ons.

David Ornstein reports that Crystal Palace are now considering whether to accept the proposal for the 30-year-old Colombian, who has become one of the key players in their recent rise.

The bid comes with Forest manager Oliver Glasner pushing for a reunion with Daniel Munoz. The pair previously worked together at Palace, and Glasner’s move to the City Ground has now opened the door for the defender to potentially follow him.

Glasner wants his Crystal Palace reunion

Daniel Munoz enjoyed another productive campaign last season, registering five goals and four assists across 46 appearances in all competitions.

Forest’s willingness to put £20m on the table shows how highly Glasner rates his former player. The possible £2m in additional payments could take the overall value of the proposal to £22m.

Crystal Palace now have a decision to make.

Munoz is 30, but his performances remain strong and his experience could be difficult to replace. At the same time, a substantial offer for a player at this stage of his career may give the Eagles something serious to consider.

There is also an interesting parallel with Glasner’s own move. His decision to leave Palace for Forest was a significant change, and Munoz potentially making the same journey at 30 wouldn’t come as a huge surprise given his previous relationship with the manager.

For now, Crystal Palace are weighing up the proposal. Forest have made their move while Glasner wants Munoz, who is reportedly keen on a reunion.
