Crystal Palace are racing against time to complete a deal for Quinten Timber, with the midfielder’s move to Selhurst Park now hinging on the final hours of the transfer window.
The Eagles have made a £17 million offer for the Marseille midfielder, who is understood to have agreed personal terms with Crystal Palace. The remaining task is reaching an agreement with the Ligue 1 club before the deadline.
A successful move would see Timber join his twin brother Jurrien in English football, with the latter currently at Arsenal.
Crystal Palace pushing for Quinten Timber deal
Quinten Timber has been linked with a Premier League move for several years, particularly since his brother moved to Arsenal in 2023. His form at Marseille has only strengthened that interest.
The Netherlands international joined Marseille in January after three and a half years with Feyenoord. He made 15 appearances for the French side and helped them finish fifth in Ligue 1.
Palace aren’t the only club to have shown interest. FC Porto and Aston Villa have also been credited with monitoring the midfielder, but it is the Eagles who have pushed forward with a concrete proposal.
According to Foot Mercato, Timber has agreed to join Crystal Palace, leaving the clubs to settle the transfer terms.
Marseille are reportedly under financial pressure and could be forced to sell the 25-year-old before the window closes. If Palace fail to get the deal done now, however, Quinten Timber may remain in France until January at the earliest.
For Palace, the pressure is obvious. They have submitted a decent offer and apparently secured the player’s agreement. Now they simply need Marseille to say yes before time runs out.
