Crystal Palace are stepping up their efforts to secure Tyrick Mitchell’s long-term future.
The left-back’s current contract is due to expire at the end of the season, although Crystal Palace have the option to extend it by another year. The club are now accelerating plans to agree a new deal with one of their longest-serving players, according to Football Insider.
Palace keen to keep Mitchell at Selhurst Park
Mitchell, 27, has attracted interest from several clubs in the Premier League and across Europe, with Manchester United and Liverpool among those monitoring his situation.
The defender has been a key player for Palace over the past 12 months and has continued to play an important role under new manager Pierre Sage. Despite the summer arrival of Ben Chilwell, Mitchell remains a regular starter.
Since making his Palace debut in 2020, Mitchell has made 250 appearances across all competitions. During that time, he has helped the club win the FA Cup, Community Shield and Conference League.
His performances and loyalty have made him a popular figure among the Palace supporters, and the club are keen to reward his six years of service with a fresh contract.
Mitchell is also believed to be happy at Selhurst Park, strengthening Palace’s hopes of keeping him beyond his current agreement.
The club have already reached an agreement to extend Dean Henderson’s contract and are now pushing ahead with negotiations for Mitchell and at least one other teammate.
With interest building elsewhere, Palace will be keen to make progress quickly and ensure one of their key players remains part of the squad for the long term.
