Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has heaped praise on winger Wilfried Zaha following Palace’s 1-0 win over Watford in the Premier League on Sunday.
Zaha, who came through the academy and is in his second spell with the club, came off the bench and won the penalty which was then converted by Yohan Cabaye to win the game for the Eagles.
He drifted into the box on the left hand side before being hauled down by Watford full-back Allan Nyom for a penalty.
Alan Pardew then said after the game that he was delighted with the attitude and work ethic that Zaha had shone, despite telling him last Thursday that was not going to be starting the winger, starting Bakary Sako instead.

Pardew then said that he is willing to drop anyone who he feels is not performing to the optimum levels and if they let their standards drop, then they will be dropped.
Pardew (As quoted in the Croydon Advertiser):
“I thought in the week [against Charlton] Wilfried’s reaction was very good,” Pardew said.
“I said to him on Thursday that he wouldn’t start, even though he played well on Wednesday. He took that very well.
“I think this is a lesson learned from him. You can’t let your standards slip, especially with Bakary Sako and Yannick Bolasie.
“The competition is fierce, so if you have 45 minutes or 60 minutes below the standard, you’re going to feel the pressure.”
