Jonny Williams is determined to force himself back into Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew’s plans at Selhurst park
The Welsh international is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest having had three spells with Ipswich Town in the last 18 months.
Injury hampered his progress in the last two stints at Portman Road and the 22-year-old hopes to have finally got over his problems after a frustrating time on the sidelines.
It’s been a slow start due to the amount of time I’ve had out, but hopefully I can kick on now.
I think the main thing for me until January is to stay fit, and if I can do that and play as many games as I can, I’d be delighted.
It would give me the best chance to play in the red and blue, because that’s the dream and it’s been a long time. Fingers crossed, I can do that.
The midfielder featured for Wales on Tuesday on what was an historic night for Welsh football and the academy product will have his sights set on the European Championships in France next summer.
It was a bit emotional at the end of Tuesday, just to be fit again. Now I’m happy so as long as I stay clear of nasty challenges, I’ll be OK.
Forest travel to bottom of the Championship Bristol City this weekend, and Williams’ immediate focus is to get game time at the City ground with the hope of breaking back into the team with his parent club.
It’s been the most games I’ve played in a year now so I just want to kick on and play more and more.
