Joe Ledley has heaped praise on the depth in the Crystal Palace squad and says the manager is to thank for that, reports Mark Ritson of the Croydon Advertiser.
The Welshman was a first team regular last season, but has seen his chances limited thanks to the arrival of Yohan Cabaye, as well as the quality of the midfield already, including Mile Jedinak and James McArthur.
Ledley had a substitute role in the 3-1 defeat to West Ham United on Saturday, but was keen to express his delight at the talent in the playing squad at Selhurst Park.
“It is a great option for us and hopefully the manager sees us as important players for the squad,” boasted the former Cardiff City man.
Ledley has recently defended Alan Pardew’s substitutions, and was quick to claim the squad strength is down to the manager’s shrewd business.
You have to give credit to the whole of the team and the players he’s brought in. We’ve got a good group and squad in depth, and that’s what you need in a league like this.

Ledley hopes to regain his place in the starting line-up, and wants for more of the same from the club’s transfers. He exclaimed:
You need to be able to replace people with quality. Bakary Sako came on for Wilfried (Zaha) too, so it’s a strong team and we’ve still got more to come.
Palace will be looking to bounce back from Saturday’s loss with an away win at the King Power Stadium against Leicester City on Saturday.
