Crystal Palace in investment talks with USA based consortium

Crystal Palace are in talks with an American-based consortium regarding a potential investment in the football club, as reported by Ed Malyon in The Mirror.

Palace were in negotiations in the summer regarding potential investment, but that fell through as the two parties could not agree on the valuation of the club.

However, the US consortium in question, who are linked to two private equity firms Apollo and Blackstone, are back at the negotiating table with Steve Parish discussing them potentially investing in the club.

These talks do not involve a takeover of the club as Parish wants to keep his stake in the club, and Steve Browett wants to keep a small percentage of his stake too.

Jeremy Hosking and Martin Long are the two shareholders who are expected to sell their stakes.

About three weeks ago, Parish spoke about the need to renovate Selhurst Park, and securing investment will allow the club to do this.
