As part of a larger sweep of persons suspected of violent disorder during and after Palace’s Capital One Cup match against Charlton on 23 September, police arrested a 34-year old male in connection with attempting to assault Kayla, Palace’s bald eagle mascot, according to media reports.
In total, raids conducted by police throughout the week have yielded a total of six arrests for violent disorder.
The man arrested for the attempted assault on Kayla is still – as of the time of the initial reports – still being held in south London. His name has not been released to the media at this time, but he is said to reside in Welling.
Authorities are still conducting the larger investigation into the illegal activities taking place during and after the match which Palace won by a score of 4-1. Anyone with information into any illegal or violent activity surrounding the match are encouraged to get in touch with authorities.
