Crystal Palace have tied youngster Francis Baptiste down to a long term deal after it was reported that Tottenham were trying to take him from Selhurst Park,
According to reports, Palace have high hopes for the teenager and were keen to tie him down,
Baptiste, who has been at Crystal Palace since the age of 12, was apparently a target for Tottenham, hence why the Eagles were keen to tie him down.
The 16-year-old has been playing in the under 18 side and has been performing really well.
He scored five goals in a 7-0 demolition of Barnsley last month, which gained him a lot of publicity, so it’s unsurprising that Palace felt the need to get him to put pen to paper.
It’s great to see Palace looking to the future by securing their young players as they’ve often ended up losing talent to other London clubs, John Bostock the perfect example of such a player.
