Crystal Palace’s under 18s coach Ken Gillard is leaving his role with the club to take up a position with Arsenal, as per a report in the Croydon Advertiser.
Gillard has been in charge of the Eagles U18 side since 2014 but will leave the club with immediate effect to join London rivals Arsenal as part of their youth set up.

Gillard moved into coaching after his playing career ended and despite only ever playing in the lower leagues, he managed to move quickly up the coaching ranks from Barton Rovers, Hitchin Town and Nuneaton to Crystal Palace.
However, Palace obviously wasn’t the height of his ambitions and he’s decided to move to perennial Champions League side Arsenal, where he’ll look to help bring through more star players into their first team.
Palace U18s have had a mixed start to their season. They started really well with five wins in seven games but have fallen away recently with two wins and two draws in their previous four ties.
