Okereke’s agent reveals Palace are keen to sign him

Crystal Palace are interested in signing David Okereke this summer, according to the player’s agent.

Reports towards the end of the January transfer window claimed that the Eagles had sent scouts out to Italy to watch the young forward in action for Spezia in Serie B.

No move materialised, but it seems Palace’s interest has remained strong, and a summer move could yet be on the cards.

Ben Itorho, who works as Okereke’s representative, recently spoke to All Nigeria Soccer about his client’s future at Spezia and confirmed that a host of clubs including Palace are keen to sign him.

He said:

Southampton, Crystal Palace and Newcastle are showing interest but there are other clubs who want him. Club Brugge, Genk and Sassuolo have strong interest in him.

They want Okereke in the Premier League but the player has to take a decision with his footballing future in mind.

It seems Okereke is a man in demand this summer, and following such an impressive season in the second tier of Italian football, it is clear to see why.

The 21-year-old, who is an international for Nigeria’s Under-23 team, scored 10 goals in Serie B and also contributed with 12 assists.
