- Crystal Palace face West Ham on Monday
- Dean Henderson changes agencies
- Andoni Iraola interest confirmed
Crystal Palace are in for a busy few weeks as their UEFA Conference League continues and they prepare for life without Oliver Glasner this summer. Their first focus is on Monday’s meeting with West Ham United in the Premier League.
Glasner’s men head into the game after a memorable 4-2 win on aggregate over Fiorentina in Europe. But they didn’t come out of that game unscathed as Adam Wharton and Maxence Lacroix picked up injuries.
The Eagles got the Italian job done and will face Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in the semi-finals. The good news kept on coming for fans, as it is now confirmed that Andoni Iraola is the one the board wants to take charge next season.
Dean Henderson New Agent
Dean Henderson was in a party mood after Palace’s triumph over Fiorentina on Thursday night. The English goalkeeper cut an interview short to interact with the visiting supporters, and they responded with his famous chant.
A clip then went viral of Henderson and his teammates dancing on the streets of Florence. But a day later, news broke that the Eagles’ captain had changed agencies.
Henderson has now signed with Unique Sports Group amid talk over his future. He has just over two years on his contract, and there has been talk of interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Fans will be hoping the move is more about securing a new deal than about a potential exit. He has been fantastic ever since arriving from Manchester United back in August 2023.
West Ham Clash
Palace encounter relegation-battling West Ham at Selhurst Park on Monday night. The South Londoners are safe from the drop, having reached 42 points.
Glasner’s men sit 12 points above 18th-placed Tottenham Hotspur with seven games left. It might be a case of the Austrian coach rotating his side, especially after a midweek trip to Italy.
Wharton and Lacroix’s injuries will probably mean the duo sit out the West Ham game. Jean-Philippe Mateta started in Florence but could be benched for Jorgen Strand Larsen who needs to start finding his shooting boots.
Andoni Iraola Interest
David Ornstein has confirmed that Palace are extremely interested in making Iraola their new manager next season. The Spaniard has announced he will be leaving Bournemouth when, like Glasner, his contract expires in June.
The Athletic journalist didn’t reveal whether reports from Spain about a “multi-million” offer being put on the table were real. But he did say that the Eagles are eyeing him.
Palace does face competition as his former playing club, Athletic Club are also in the mix. Villarreal are too considering trying to bring him back to Spain.
