Crystal Palace have confirmed they have offered Daichi Kamada a new contract ahead of his current deal expiring. The Japanese midfielder is set to become a free agent on June 30th.

The Eagles want to keep Kamada at Selhurst Park and could convince him to perform a U-turn. The expectation has been that the player follows Oliver Glasner out of the club.

Kamada was in inspired form last season, playing a crucial role in Palace’s UEFA Conference League triumph. He’s been with the South London football outfit since July 2024 after arriving on a free transfer.

Palace want Kamada to stay

The club confirmed that they have offered Kamada a new contract when announcing their retained and released list for the 2026-27 Premier League campaign. It includes the Japan international.

Kamada made 46 appearances across competitions last season, registering one goal and five assists. A mainstay in Glasner’s team, he could be vital for the Austrian’s replacement.

Pierre Sage is set to succeed Glasner at Selhurst Park, and the Frenchman will want to retain most of the group that surged to European glory. That also includes Adam Wharton, who, like Kamada, the club are trying to persuade to stay for at least one more season.

Nathaniel Clyne talks

Palace also confirmed that they are in talks with Nathaniel Clyne over a new deal. The veteran English right-back’s current contract expires at the end of the month.

Clyne has been handed a bit-part role in recent seasons but provides backup to Daniel Munoz. He featured 10 times last season, including making his 250th appearance for the Eagles.
