Matheus França is back on Crystal Palace’s decision list after his loan spell at Vasco da Gama reached its scheduled end date on June 30.
Palace confirmed last August that the Brazilian forward had joined Vasco until June 2026, with the move designed to give him a reset in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.
He is now a Crystal Palace player again, with his Selhurst Park contract running until June 2028 and his latest market value marked at €6 million.
França return sharpens Palace summer question
The 22-year-old’s Palace career remains awkwardly unresolved. He arrived from Flamengo in 2023 with clear technical promise, but injuries and limited rhythm have left him with just 19 senior appearances and one Palace goal.
That is why this return matters. Palace have already been linked with further midfield and attacking-market movement this summer, while Read Crystal Palace has previously covered Brazilian interest in another possible França exit.
If Pierre Sage wants a tighter, Europa-ready squad, the club must decide quickly whether França is a pre-season project, a saleable asset, or a loan case that still needs English football minutes.
For a player still tied down for two more years, drift is the one option Palace cannot afford.
