Crystal Palace Confirm Bromley Friendly Before Como Cup Trip

Crystal Palace have confirmed a first-team pre-season friendly away to Bromley, giving Pierre Sage a useful south London checkpoint before the Eagles head into their Como Cup schedule.

Palace will travel to Hayes Lane on Saturday, 25 July, with kick-off set for 15:00 BST. The club have also confirmed the fixture will be covered across official channels and streamed on Palace TV+.

The match now forms part of Palace’s completed summer programme, and it arrives at a useful point in Sage’s first pre-season as manager.

Sport Grill shared the Bromley fixture details on X, with the game falling just three days before Palace begin their Como Cup schedule against RC Lens and FC Famalicao.

Pierre Sage Gets A Local Palace Test

For Sage, Bromley is more than a routine warm-up. It gives him a local, physical and controlled fixture before Palace’s preparation sharpens abroad.

That timing matters because Palace have already had one summer fixture disrupted, with the Swindon friendly cancellation trimming part of the early domestic runway. Bromley now becomes a more useful checkpoint for rhythm, legs and fringe players.

Read Crystal Palace has already looked at how Pierre Sage must balance squad demands after arriving at Selhurst Park, and pre-season will quickly test that work. Palace have Premier League demands, Europa League football and World Cup returnees to manage before the competitive schedule begins.

Bromley also bring their own local edge after reaching League One, while Andy Woodman’s Palace connection adds another subplot.

For Sage, the priority will be simpler. He needs to know which players can carry minutes, which academy or fringe options can force the issue, and how quickly his squad can reach match rhythm.

Hayes Lane will not define Palace’s season. It should still give Sage a useful first read before the Como Cup, Freiburg and the Premier League opener against Everton.
